Scorching heat in the south of Europe. Not here, it finally rains. Bliss! Reminded me of a rainy summer holiday week in southern Portugal, with just a little sunshine.

Sea of straws

My old home 20 years ago, on the shores of the Mar de Palha. In other words, Liboa/Lisbon/Lissabon/Lisbonne, depending on where you are from. If you've never been there, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR???? OK, I might be biased, as  love the place, the people, the food, the coffee... A nice bica with my pastel de Belem: heaven.

The Sea of Straw

Mar de Palha. Well, kind of. Not actually a sea, more a large bay, where the Tejo river, aka Tagus, flows in the Atlantic Ocean, in Lisbon, Portugal. The name comes from the color of the water at sundown. In the back, the 23 km long Vasco de Gama bridge.
